Beaches and Bays in Coronado
Ranked as one of the top 10 beaches in the country, Coronado offers amazing weather and long sandy beaches. The entire west side of Coronado (facing the Pacific Ocean) is essentially one long beach, measuring over a mile long. The beach is made up of beautiful white sand and the crowd is mostly families and children enjoying the day. In front of the Hotel Del Coronado there is a small tide pool, allowing for sea exploration. If you want to bring your dog to the beach, there is a dog entrance located at the North end of the beach near the naval base entrance. Lifeguards are always on duty at Central Beach, however the rest of the beach is seasonal. There's plenty of free parking along Ocean Blvd, however it fills up quickly during the summer months, when then the tourists are in full force. There are restrooms and showers at various areas as well as fire rings for nighttime bonfires. There is no alcohol or glass containers allowed at any parks or beaches in Coronado. Outlet
Outlet is where most of the surfers head during the summer months, when the south swells roll in. Outlet is located at the North end of the beach near Dog Beach and Spreckles Park. PitPit is where most of the surfers head during the Winter time. Pit is a mushy left and right sandy bottom break located between the Hotel Del Coronado and the Coronado Shores. Coronado Central BeachThis is where most of the visitors or local come to play in the surf and sand. Center Beach is easy to find because of the giant life guard station, which makes this an excellent place for swimming. Restrooms and showers are available and Central Beach is a swimming and bogie boarding area only.
Coronado Dog Beach
The dog beach in Coronado is an excellent place to bring your dog, located at the Northern end of the beach next to the Naval Air Station. There is small labeled sandy trail that leads to the water. At Dog beach you can let your dog play frisbee or run in the surf. There are poop bags located at the entrance of dog park, and trash receptacles.
North Beach North Beach is located at the North end of Coronado, just south of Dog Beach and across the street from the park. North Beach is more secluded than Central Beach and is great for kids and families. This is where you would come in the summertime if you wanted to surf and play. Silver Strand State Beach
This is a state owned beach located 4.5 miles south of Coronado Village along the Silver Strand, with access by an underpass by Leows Hotel. This beach allows camping, motor homes, RV's and camping. There are fire rings, restrooms, showers and life guards on duty. Hours: 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Contact (619) 435-5184 for reservations and fee.
Glorietta Bay Beach
This is a small sandy area on the bay located South of the Hotel del Coronado and City Hall, offers a large grass-filled park excellent for a picnic or amazing views of The Coronado Bridge. There are restrooms, playground equipment, and a small beach area. The Glorietta Bay Beach is a great place to watch fireworks on 4th of July.

Tidelands Park
Coronado's largest park with 22 acres of beachfront land off of Glorietta Boulevard, right of Bridge. The park has four ball fields, a playground, a small sandy beach, picnic benches, bike and pedestrian paths, restrooms and parking for more than 200 cars. There is also a skateboard Park located here.
