Coronado Skate Park in Coronado
Coronado Skate Park is located in Tidelands Park, and it is the the only skate park on the Island of Coronado. The Skatepark overlooks the San Diego Bay and the San Diego-Coronado Bridge. The project was designed by DesignWorkshop of Tempe, Arizona in 2006. The Coronado Skate Park is city-owned-and-operated and open to the public and it encompasses 18,000 square feet, it includes concrete ramps, bowls, grinds and jumpsand features a street course and threee smooth, mini-ramp style bowls:
- The Street Plaza - features a deep crater 2 to 3 feet deep for beginners.
- Clover Bowl - is 5 to 7 feet deep and designed for experienced skaters.
- Teardrop - Most chalenging bowl is 8 feet deep.
Coronado Skate Park Rules and Safety
The Coronado Skatepark is designed for skateboards and inline skates only. It is open for ages 6 years or older, parental consent must be signed for all skaters under the age of 18, and a waiver must be signed by everyone who skates. Helmet, elbow pads, and knee pads are required at all times. Equipment rentals are available.
